01 Job description

Description of tasks

  1. Design and execute an interdisciplinary research project aligned with the submitted proposal and the overarching scientific goal of the programme: the development of next-generation organic materials for optoelectronic applications or novel methodology for their synthesis.
  2. Collaborate closely with a mentor from IOC PAS and a co-mentor from an international partner institution to guide project development and growth.
  3. Contribute to training activities organised by the project, including the creation and implementation of the Career Development Plan (CDP), with the goal of advancing professional skills and career perspectives.
  4. Participate in an international secondment to a research or industry organisation for a minimum of 3 months.
  5. Disseminate research findings through publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, participation in scholarly networks and co-creating and spreading materials for the general public.

02 Employment conditions and benefits

Remuneration

  • Basic salary: approximately €4,350 gross/month (total funding: €5,200/month).
  • Mobility allowance: approximately €418 gross/month (total funding: €500/month).
  • Family allowance, if applicable: approximately €334 gross/month (total funding: €400/month).

Total funding includes the gross salary and employer social security contributions.

  • Temporary work contract for 36 months

04 Eligibility and requirements

Mobility Rule

Candidates must not have conducted their main research activity or resided in Poland for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately prior to the deadline of the Call, including remote work for a legal entity established in Poland.

Doctoral degree

Applicants must hold a PhD by the call deadline in chemistry, physics, biology or a related field, or possess a formal document confirming the successful defence of a doctoral thesis before the deadline.

05 Candidate evaluation

Applications will be evaluated in two main areas: proposal evaluation — 70% and candidate’s professional experience and competencies — 30%.

Stage II — Interview

  • Scientific knowledge — depth of knowledge in organic chemistry and understanding of the proposed research area.
  • Presentation skills — clarity, structure, innovation and scientific relevance.
  • Communication & interaction — ability to answer questions, communicate ideas and demonstrate critical thinking.

Interviews will be held in English.
