Project Coordinator
Prof. Jacek Młynarski provides the overall strategic and scientific leadership of MATERIALIZE. He oversees the programme’s scientific coherence, monitors progress towards its objectives and represents MATERIALIZE in relations with the European Commission and external stakeholders.
He also chairs the Steering Committee and coordinates cooperation between the programme’s scientific supervisors, management team and associated partners.
Young Project Coordinator
Dr Katarzyna Rybicka-Jasińska supports the scientific coordination of MATERIALIZE and cooperation between the programme leadership, supervisors and fellows.
She helps ensure that the programme responds to the professional development needs of researchers and supports the integration of scientific, training and mobility activities.
Dr Rybicka-Jasińska also participates in MATERIALIZE as a scientific supervisor specialising in electrosynthesis.
Training Programme Manager
Prof. Agnieszka Szumna coordinates the MATERIALIZE training programme. She oversees the integration of scientific training, transferable-skills development and career-planning activities.
She also supports fellows in preparing and regularly reviewing their individual Career Development Plans, ensuring that the training programme responds to their research needs and long-term professional objectives.
Prof. Szumna also participates in MATERIALIZE as a scientific supervisor specialising in supramolecular systems.
Project Manager
Paweł Stankiewicz is responsible for the day-to-day operational and administrative management of MATERIALIZE.
He coordinates programme implementation, schedules, reporting and communication between the management team, fellows, supervisors, IOC PAS units and associated partners. He also supports the organisation of recruitment, training activities, programme meetings and international secondments.
Press Office
Aleksandra Kossowska is responsible for media relations and the external communication of MATERIALIZE.
She coordinates public-facing content relating to recruitment, research activities, training events and fellows’ achievements across the programme website, social media and other communication channels. She also supports media contacts and ensures that MATERIALIZE communication remains consistent with the programme’s visual identity and European Union funding requirements.
MATERIALIZE is led and coordinated by the Institute of Organic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences (IOC PAS).
The programme’s governance structure has been designed to ensure scientific excellence, effective management, high-quality training, ethical compliance and a transparent recruitment process. It combines experienced scientific leadership, dedicated operational support, specialist oversight and the active participation of fellows.
The MATERIALIZE team brings together expertise in scientific coordination, researcher development, programme management and external communication. Its members oversee the scientific, training, organisational and public-facing activities of the programme.
The Steering Committee is the principal supervisory and advisory body of MATERIALIZE. It monitors programme implementation, reviews progress and risks and ensures that research, training, recruitment and management activities remain aligned with the programme’s objectives. The Steering Committee is chaired by the Project Coordinator and will include two, rotating Principal Investigators; and two elected MATERIALIZE fellows; The participation of elected fellow representatives ensures that researchers have a formal voice in decisions affecting their training, professional development and working environment.
Each MATERIALIZE fellow will join one of ten participating research groups at IOC PAS and carry out their project under the guidance of an experienced scientific supervisor.
Supervisors will provide scientific guidance, monitor research progress and support fellows in aligning their research, training and international secondments with their individual Career Development Plans. They will also contribute to cooperation between research groups and the wider MATERIALIZE partner network.
Two rotating Principal Investigators will represent the participating research groups on the Steering Committee, ensuring that scientific supervision and programme-level decision-making remain closely connected.
